We are looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our team and make a significant impact on the lives of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Role Overview:
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide tailored support and create an inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Individual and Group Support: Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
- Personalised Learning: Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons, adapting activities and materials to meet the specific needs of each student.
- Inclusive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting social, emotional, and academic development.
- Behaviour Management: Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support positive behaviour and engagement.
- Curriculum Access: Help students access the curriculum by providing tailored support, ensuring they can participate fully in all school activities.
- Progress Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and interventions, and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Experience in SEN Education: Previous experience working with children with SEN in a learning support or teaching assistant role.
- Qualifications: GCSEs in Maths and English - Minimum Level 2/C Grade.
- Empathy and Patience: A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for supporting students with SEN.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to a positive school environment.
- Flexibility: Adaptable to changing situations and able to use initiative to support students effectively.
