SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (annual equivalent of £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, based on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen, working with students aged 10-19 who have complex needs, such as Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students in their academic and personal development. You will work alongside the class teacher to create and deliver lessons that are tailored to individual needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Managing behaviour and promoting student well-being will also be important aspects of the role.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in planning, delivering, and assessing learning activities.
Provide regular updates on student progress.
Help students stay focused during lessons and manage their behaviour.
Maintain accurate records of student development, in line with school policies.
Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Requirements:
Experience working with children who have special educational needs (SEN).
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential for transporting students on a rota).
GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - required.
Level 2 or higher qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (preferred).
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
