In this role, you will:
- Provide individual and small group support to students with diverse learning needs, fostering a safe and trusting environment.
- Work closely with other professionals to implement effective strategies in line with each student's individual learning plan.
- Utilise a range of techniques to manage challenging behaviour, promote emotional regulation, and develop positive social skills.
- Encourage and support learner's participation in classroom activities and social interactions.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a positive behaviour support system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a thematic curriculum to students within a specialist setting.
- Develop and lead engaging learning programs that cater to the unique needs of learners within your area of expertise.
- Collaborate with senior managers and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to supporting students.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of national curriculum areas related to your role.
- Contribute to the development of collaborative curriculum packages and programs to support student needs.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a teacher, with a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, QTLS)
- A strong understanding of the needs of students with emotional and social challenges and experience working with complex behaviours.
- A commitment to creating a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- TeamTeach qualification is desirable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with learners, families, and colleagues.
- A driving license with access to a car
