The Role :
We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic SEMH/SEN Teaching Assistant to join our partnered well-established Special Educational Needs school based in Bury St Edmunds. You will be working alongside a team of skilled professionals, supporting children with a range of complex needs including emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and other learning needs. You will provide emotional and behavioural support, using strategies to manage challenging behaviours and helping students learn how to regulate their emotions.

Your Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN/SEMH.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Assist in maintaining classroom order, fostering a positive and stimulating learning atmosphere.
- Establish effective communication with parents, teachers, and external professionals.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate the academic and social progress of students with SEN.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to accommodate diverse learning needs.
Requirements:
- Experience working or volunteering with SEND children (preferably with autism/ADHD experience).
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Caring and empathetic personality.
- Commitment to safeguarding children.
- A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
