Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Science department, overseeing curriculum planning, assessment, and quality assurance.
- Support the professional development of Science teachers, providing guidance and mentoring.
- Ensure high standards of teaching and learning through effective monitoring and evaluation.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and academic achievement within the Science department.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing targeted support where necessary.
- Contribute to the development of the Science curriculum and resources.
- Support extracurricular activities related to Science, such as science clubs or competitions.
Preferred Skills:
- Genuine enthusiasm and passion for teaching Science.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively.
- Strong classroom management skills to create a positive and orderly learning environment.
- Willingness to contribute to extra-curricular activities related to Science.
Requirements:
- An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this)
- Good knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
- Excellent planning and organisation skills.
