Responsibilities
• Provide planning, assessment, and development effort to meet workload demand of the BI reporting enablement activity, which support program areas within the Ministry of Attorney General.
• Work with a Project Manager and Business Areas to evaluate requirements and develop reports/dashboards/data visualizations, utilizing Power BI Desktop, Power BI Report Builder (based on best fit to meet requirements).
• Work with project team to ensure reports/dashboards/data visualizations are properly reviewed for quality assurance and compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA.
• Work with project team to complete all relevant and required documentation, such as knowledge transfer, and communication, to support the completion of the project.
• Participate in requirements gathering sessions to understand the functional and non-functional needs.
• Perform assessment, and define approach in collaboration with project team and stakeholder to successfully deliver effective BI Solutions.
• Perform design and development activities to produce reports/dashboards/data visualizations within Power BI Desktop or Power BI Report Builder.
• Perform troubleshooting and apply corrective actions to resolve issues with BI Solutions discovered during pre-release testing.
• Work with project team to provide relevant and required documentation to support migration activities and knowledge transfer.
• Participate in knowledge transfer activities.
Knowledge to be Transferred:
• All documentation relating to the technology designs and technology knowledge specific to the candidate’s assignment All information gathered while working with vendors and internal solutions to be shared Any best practices, work around, lessons learned must be documented.
• Codes.
• Scripts.
• Power BI report and dashboard specifications (PBIX files).
Knowledge to be Transferred to: Project Manager / Team members.
Qualifications
• Experience working in a business intelligence team/ environment, developing and delivering business intelligence and/or analytical reports and dashboards.
• Experience working with Power BI Desktop, and Power BI Report Builder to design and develop reports and dashboards and work with team members to explore options to redesign outdated reports.
• Experience writing and working with Microsoft Power BI DAX code to implement business logic within Power BI reports.
• Experience performing troubleshooting of SQL queries, business intelligence and analytical reports, as well as performing data analysis to complete data validation and ensure report accuracy.
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle databases.
• Knowledge of ETL tools, such as Azure Data Factory, Microsoft SSDT.
Mandatory Requirements:
• Demonstrated working knowledge of Power BI Desktop [At least 2 years of experience]
• Demonstrated working knowledge of SQL query languages (T-SQL, PL-SQL) [At least 4 years of experience]
• Demonstrated working knowledge of DAX programming (At least 2 years of experience)
