Responsibilities
- Provide testing strategy, test plans, and the selection of testing tools.
- Plan and organize testing efforts for large systems in Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-Graphical User Interface (GUI) environments, including the execution of systems integration tests, specialized tests, and connectivity/error handling. and user acceptance testing (e.g., stress tests).
- Develop test cases and execute these against the various components.
- Work closely with the Software Engineers and Business Analyst in the analysis, design, development, implementation and ongoing support of the required systems.
Deliverables include, but are not limited to:
- Design and create a Test Strategy for features based on the identified requirements
- Create and estimate DevOps Tasks for QA related work
- Create and Execute Test cases for assigned areas
- Defect management for areas owned.
Knowledge Transfer Details:
- Knowledge transfer will occur as information is obtained and consolidated.
- Knowledge transfer includes sharing of documentation, walk through of the application and regular team meetings to discuss project status, issues, risk and changes.
- Additionally, any joint review sessions, analysis workshops, etc., where key deliverables are shared with Ontario Health staff.
Qualifications
Must Haves:
- Minimum 8 to 10 years’ hands-on experience testing Web Applications (.NET).
- 3+ years’ working experience testing REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tooling.
- 3+ years’ working experience using Microsoft DevOps Test Plans.
- 3+ years’ working experience writing SQL queries.
Desired Skills:
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
- Effective team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information in an understandable manner.
- Knowledge and experience in at least one programming language.
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards.
- Knowledge of one or more automated testing tools.
- Experience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activities.
- Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
