Reporting to the Manager, Routes Marketing Retail, the Routes Marketing Manager, Promotions is responsible for the management, development and execution of Air Canada’s pos Canada routes marketing calendar driven seasonal promotions and ongoing retail promotions driving revenue growth for routes worldwide.
This marketing position involves the management of multi-channel revenue generating retail marketing campaigns in owned and paid channels, and is a critical collaboration position working with internal stakeholders including Revenue Management, AC Media Desk, Aeroplan Loyalty, AC Marketing Ops, AC Studio, Marketing Analytics, requiring a mix of strategic thinking, execution and management skills to drive incremental revenue.
The Routes Marketing Manager must be passionate about promotional retail marketing, possess excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills, be innovative and creative, and able to maintain a relationship of trust with peers, partners, internal customers, and external communication agencies.
Responsibilities:
... - Develop, manage and lead all execution aspects for planned and reactive quick to market promotional route marketing campaigns and initiatives including but not limited to mass and targeted retail campaigns in e-mail, digital, social, sem, etc.
- Propose marketing strategies and solutions, including tactical offer design, channel mix and messaging strategy working in collaboration with Revenue Management, Aeroplan Loyalty Management and Analytics to identify and proactively solve upcoming route issues.
- Work closely with the Marketing Analytics team, monitor, aggregate and share campaign results with appropriate teams, including department managers and wider promotional marketing and brand team, for use in future marketing initiatives (includes but is not limited to campaign and offer performance, as well as trends and insights on aircanada.com).
- Collaborate with digital content team to deliver a best-in-class shopping and retail experience on aircanada.com, continually measuring performance and identifying opportunities to optimize owned channels.
- Think strategically to contribute to new ideas and best practices to processes and go to market strategies based on industry trends and assist the conversion process with an analytical, insights driven approach.
- Accountable for ensuring accuracy, cohesiveness and legality of information contained in all communications, ensuring brand identity and guidelines are respected.
- Regularly prepare presentations outlining campaign approaches and strategies, and actively participate in meetings with airline leadership to facilitate strategic decisions.
- Manage external service providers and agencies, overseeing the marketing budget for respective portfolio including issuing of PO’s, purchase commitment authorizations, invoicing, billing and reconciliation.
- Develop strong, cross-functional, cooperative working relationships with key stakeholder and other branches impacted by route support marketing initiatives (AC Studio, Analytics, Marketing Ops, Digital content Team, CRM Planning, ACMD, Revenue Management, Sales Communications), etc. Provide support to

Qualifications
- University degree in Business, Marketing option or equivalent.
- 3 + years of relevant experience.
- Bilingual – Proficient in grammar, spelling and punctuation in English and French.
- Experience across a broad range of media and an understanding of media channels in the marketing funnel.
- A strategic and analytical lens, to maximise campaign performance and drive business growth.
- Highly motivated and organized with a desire to contribute to a team that is focused on success while delivering quality work in an ever-changing business.
- Ability to prioritize workload and focus on quick to market execution of offer communications when required.
- Strong communication, presentation and networking skills and experience in working with people at all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, good listener, and ample communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage and prioritize multiple projects and requests from competing stakeholders, move quickly and effectively and consistently aligning day-to-day responsibilities with wider corporate strategy.
- Explicit attention to detail and accuracy.
- High levels of ingenuity, creativity, and initiative.
- Agency experience – an asset.
- Retail marketing experience – a considerable asset.
