about the role
The Head of Retail Training & Development will oversee all learning and development initiatives for retail staff across Southeast Asia. This role focuses on developing training solutions that address skill gaps, build customer engagement capabilities, and foster a cohesive brand experience.
key Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on training to cultivate a sales-driven and service-oriented culture.
- Analyze, adapt, and implement global onboarding and training programs to meet company goals, enhance brand loyalty, and create a pipeline of internal talent.
- Conduct personalized coaching sessions to strengthen product knowledge and clienteling skills of sales associates.
- Conduct training needs assessments with retail leadership to align training plans with business priorities. Provide continuous feedback and adapt local training to meet evolving requirements.
- Visit stores across the region regularly to observe team performance, deliver in-store training, and identify best practices and areas for improvement.
- Develop and lead content for annual store leader conferences and special events. Manage partnerships with internal and external trainers as needed.
- Prepare reports on training outcomes, maintain a database of training materials, and analyze Mystery Shopper results to ensure continuous improvement in service standards.
skills and experience required
- Willing to travel across the region for the role.
- Minimum of 5 years of training experience within retail, luxury, or FMCG industries.
- A degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- Professional training certifications and field coaching experience are advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with classroom facilitation experience across different cultural backgrounds.
- Passion for the retail and fashion industry, with in-depth knowledge of the luxury sector.
- Highly self-motivated, energetic, and collaborative with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
