We are recruiting for a Research Associate to join our clients Antibody Discovery Team. Our client is a world leader in antibody discovery and engineering. They have established a novel and proprietary antibody discovery platform that enables efficient sampling of the antibody repertoire to generate high quality monoclonal antibody molecules.
This role is offered on a full time 12 month contract basis initially, part time applications will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Using exceptional practical skills, excellent communication and team working abilities to drive our innovative antibody projects forward from the laboratory
- Support immunisation-based antibody discovery within a team environment
- Perform antibody binding assays using flow cytometry and ELISA
- Carry out mammalian cell transfections and cell culture
- Generate mRNA-LNP as a reagent for immunisation
- Help to organise the immunisation timetable for various projects
- Be responsible for clearly presenting data in a variety of meeting situations internally
- Provide intellectual and practical input to develop and implement more efficient processes
- Contribute to basic lab organisation and maintenance duties such as stock taking and aliquoting reagents
Qualifications / Experience:
- Graduate scientist (degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related Biological Science) with a strong academic record and laboratory experience
- Industrial experience preferred but not essential
- Experience with some of the following techniques would be advantageous: Mammalian cell culture, preparation of cell suspensions from mammalian tissues, Flow cytometry, ELISA, cell imaging, PCR, cloning and working with mRNA
- Ability to analyse, interpret and present data generated
- A highly motivated individual with a proven ability to deliver to tight timelines
- Exceptional organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for delivering innovative new medicines for patients suffering with serious disease
In 2025, this site will relocate from Slough to Windlesham Surrey so applicants must be able to get to both locations.
