The Regional Legal Manager will be based in our Malaysia office and report directly to the Head of Legal for Singapore, Hong Kong & Malaysia. This role involves several key responsibilities:
Legal and Contract Advisory, acting as a legal business partner, the manager will provide accurate & timely legal advice to the business regarding local legal requirements in Singapore, Hong Kong & Malaysia. Taking lead in reviewing and drafting commercial contracts, leading negotiations with external parties, and ensure compliance with Randstad's policies.
Data Protection and Compliance, to act as Deputy to the Data Protection Officer, the manager will handle data protection compliance and manage privacy requests. They'll conduct legal training for Randstad staff and ensure compliance with local laws.
Litigation and Regulatory Support, managing disputes and supporting legal compliance across operations in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia will be essential. The manager will assist in licensing applications and renewals and ensure adherence to regulations.
Team Leadership and Development, the manager will lead and mentor junior lawyers, overseeing their quality of work and professional growth. This includes setting goals, evaluating performance, and providing guidance on legal expertise, commercial skills, and soft skills.
Operational Excellence and Digitisation, the manager will contribute to digitalizing the legal department through approved projects. They'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, support knowledge management, and mitigate legal risks.
