Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day human resources needs in the assigned region.
- Promote good employee relations through communication, conflict resolution, training, and implementing company policies.
- Work closely with the Corporate HR Manager to ensure consistency in HR services and reporting metrics.
- Serve as a liaison between management and associates, resolving concerns and supporting recruitment and retention goals.
- Manage investigations into workplace issues and safety concerns, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
- Support the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, including contract renewals, immigration, and housing.
- Ensure associate wellness and safety by coordinating with the safety team and handling accommodation requests.
- Assist with talent acquisition and recruitment for hourly and salaried positions, as well as conducting exit interviews to manage attrition.
- Oversee time and attendance, ensuring accuracy of time cards and addressing any attendance-related issues.
- Manage performance appraisals and assist with associate development and training.
- Deliver routine reporting and respond to ad-hoc data requests.
- Organize and support associate events and other HR-related initiatives.
- Promote company culture and values, fostering respect, professionalism, and confidentiality in the workplace.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of progressive human resources experience, including senior-level HR management.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, including employee relations, performance management, and labor laws.
- Ability to mentor and provide guidance to junior HR team members and line managers.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is preferred.
- Must have a car and a valid driver’s license to travel between locations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments.
