- Moving, arranging, lifting and loading of storage boxes, bins and totes and repetitively lifting heavy weight (50 lbs+)
- Use the proprietary computer system to track orders and determine the location of boxes

Summary
Job Summary:
Responsible for the processing and destruction of all material delivered to the shred plant. Job activities include, but are not limited to, sorting and shredding material by grade, complying with the standards of 5S Workplace Program to promote consistency with tasks, workplace layouts and workflow; compliance with all safety and security policies, proper handling of equipment and protection of customer information; demonstrate behaviors consistent with our core values.
Normal Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 8 hours a day including 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Secure Shredding (95% of time spent) – Empty collected material from containers (cutting bags, dumping gaylords, etc.). Manual dumping of boxes from pallets. Sorting material by grade, separating and discarding identified contaminants. As authorized, ability to perform repairs to equipment as needed to ensure operationally safe when in production. When authorized, perform daily, weekly and monthly equipment maintenance tasks as directed by the Plant Manager or Supervisor Load and unload vehicles as required and verify accuracy of deliveries and pickups. Maintain chain of custody and strict control over incoming and outgoing customer material. Ability to identify and recommend changes to Plant Manager and/or Destruction Supervisor as needed. Immediate notification to Plant Manager or Destruction Supervisor when equipment is not operational or there are safety and security concerns. In accordance with the 5S Workplace Program, communicate obstacles in workplace layout to Plant Manager or Destruction Supervisor. Assist with training of new staff as needed. Learn and understand compliance with all OSHA requirements, as well as safety and security procedures – including wearing required uniform and PPE’s…
B. Administrative/Other (5% of time spent) – Perform other duties as assigned by Destruction Supervisor or Plant Manager.
Business Expertise/Functional Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience in an Operations / Production / Manufacturing environment
Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with superiors, colleagues and individuals inside and outside of the company.
Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually; exhibit a professional manner when dealing with others to maintain constructive working relationships.
Job / Physical Requirements/Qualifications:
A. Physical Requirements: Manufacturing type environment at times requiring dust masks and/or earplugs; ability to pick up heavy material (70lbs to 100lbs) and/or push as much as 300lbs wheeled containers; ability to operate PIT (and other equipment) as licensed. Work gloves required when handling and sorting materials for destruction. Safety glasses required. Protective footwear is required and shall meet ASTM F2413-11 “Standard Specification for Performance Requirements for Protective (Safety) Toe Cap Footwear” and have a slip-resistant rating designated as “Better or Best”. Temperatures on the production floor can sometimes be equivalent to external temperatures.
B. Travel Requirements: Less than 10% in district as needed.
C. Utilization of Time and Equipment: 95%: Lifting, moving, pushing and pulling equipment & 5%: Laptop / desktop computer, telephone.
