Shift timings- 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
R&D Laboratory Technician
The R&D Laboratory Technician will be responsible for supporting various processes within the R&D sensor laboratories, following guidance from Senior Laboratory Technicians or equivalent team members. This role is essential in assisting with the assembly and testing of experimental sensor batches, while also contributing to routine tasks like cleaning, equipment maintenance, stock management, and paperwork organization. The technician will play a vital part in ensuring that sensor builds and tests are completed to support critical R&D projects, while maintaining the laboratories in a compliant and audit-ready condition. As new sensor technologies are introduced, adaptability to new and complex build/test techniques and instrumentation is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support across different laboratory areas as needed (e.g., Sensor Testing and Sensor Prototyping).
- Deliver detailed feedback to Senior Lab Technicians, R&D Sensor teams, Laboratory Coordinators, and other technical departments.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks such as:
- Setting up equipment and preparing testing solutions.
- Ensuring glassware and reusable equipment are cleaned and ready for use.
- Assisting in the setup and cleanup of experimental tests conducted by Senior Lab Technicians.
- Manage laboratory stock levels and assist with ordering consumables.
- Perform regular checks and organize storage areas within the R&D Laboratory.
- Help file and organize laboratory paperwork, including archiving.
- Ensure the sensor laboratories remain compliant and ready for audits.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout all laboratory areas.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a laboratory environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- A strong work ethic and dedication to providing 100% effort.
- Good communication skills.
- Must have the right to work in the UK.
- No degree or experience in required for this position
