Responsibilities:
- Work with families under the auspices of Child in Need and Child Protection.
- The teams work collaboratively with families to support them to make changes to ensure that their children are safe and that their needs are met. SCP use the Public Law Outline process and if necessary, will progress to the court arena, where efforts to secure safety have not been possible.
- For some children and young people this may mean becoming cared for by the Local Authority.
- Children and young people who become cared for by the local authority will have a looked after care plan. For some children and young people where this plan means they will remain cared for, this will mean they are allocated a new social worker from the Children Looked After Team, however for some children and young people their long-term care plan may be one of adoption. We continue to support and work with these children until they move and are settled with their adoptive families.
- Within the SCP teams, there are also specialist teams working with children and young people at risk of harm outside the home, such as criminal and sexual exploitation (Aspire Team). A team working with parents, where there is a risk or likelihood of unmet needs for their unborn (Pre-birth Team).
Requirements:
- Social Work Qualification or equivalent
- Social Work England registered
- Enhanced DBS
