Public Health and Protection Team Leader

Location: Campus East Office, Welwyn Garden City AL8 7PH
Hours: Monday - Friday 37hours per week
Duration: Temp (12 weeks)
Hourly Rate: £27.65-£29.35 per hour (weekly pay)
This new temporary role is being responsible for overseeing the implementation of activities to protect the health of the public. Working closely with the council.
Public health and protection team leaders may also: Develop policies and protocols, Monitor team professional standards, Plan and manage physical resources, Undertake line management responsibilities, and Contribute to quality and service improvement activities.
Requirements:
- Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health (or for persons who qualified
prior to 1995, the Diploma in Environmental Health)
- Registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB).
- Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH).
- Post graduate experience in the field of Environmental Health encompassing work
within food hygiene/safety, occupational health and safety, pollution control and public
health disciplines
- Managing a demanding personal workload with conflicting priorities.
- Preparing/giving credible evidence at court, tribunal or committee.
- Identifying, assessing, quantifying and managing food safety, occupational safety,
environmental and public health risks.
