Randstad C&P are seeking a highly-skilled Project Manager to oversee the delivery of a prestigious £30m school development in Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a major construction project that will have a lasting impact on the local community by providing a state-of-the-art educational facility.
As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of the project, while coordinating with all stakeholders and ensuring the project remains on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a £30m school construction project, from planning through to handover.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules to meet key milestones.
- Oversee the coordination of the project team, contractors, and sub-contractors, ensuring all work is completed to the required standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and local authorities, ensuring strong stakeholder management throughout the project.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and manage risk across all project phases.
- Monitor project performance, reporting progress, financials, and potential risks to senior management.
- Manage procurement processes, including sourcing and contracting suppliers and trades.
- Drive quality control to ensure all work meets or exceeds client expectations and project specifications.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, ideally with experience in delivering education or commercial projects. Experience liaising with the DfE is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and local building regulations.
- Demonstrable experience managing large-scale projects, preferably with values upwards of £20m.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong financial management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and trades effectively, ensuring quality and safety standards.
- Knowledge of sustainability and modern building practices is desirable.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or NVQ Equivalent)
- Chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g., CIOB, RICS) is a benefit.
- CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid and other relevant qualifications
