The Role

As the Preconstruction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the early stages of major building projects. Reporting to the Regional Preconstruction Director, your responsibilities will include:

• Leading preconstruction activities across multiple projects, including design management, bid preparation, and tendering.
• Managing project programmes, budgets, and procurement strategies to ensure project viability and profitability.
• Collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and key stakeholders to develop innovative, cost-effective solutions.
• Driving value engineering and risk management initiatives during the preconstruction phase.
• Ensuring compliance with client requirements, regulatory standards, and the contractor's policies.

About You

We are seeking a driven individual with a proven track record in preconstruction and a deep understanding of the construction process. To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Significant experience in a preconstruction, bid management, or design management role, ideally with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
• A strong background in managing building projects valued between £10m and £100m.
• Excellent commercial awareness and technical knowledge.
• Outstanding communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and teams.
• A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
