Job Description: PPC Engineer (Production Planning and Control)
Role Overview:
The PPC Engineer is responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing the production processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products. This role involves coordinating between various departments to streamline operations, manage resources, and meet production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer requirements and order priorities.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure the availability of raw materials and components.
- Analyze capacity and resource constraints to optimize production timelines.
Scheduling and Monitoring:
- Create detailed production plans and monitor progress against targets.
- Identify potential bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to minimize delays.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards during production.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
- Collaborate with the warehouse and procurement teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
- Update and maintain accurate records of materials and finished goods.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends and improve processes.
- Prepare and present reports on production efficiency, material usage, and downtime.
Coordination and Communication:
- Act as a liaison between production, sales, procurement, and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Communicate with clients to provide updates on production schedules and delivery timelines.
Process Improvement:
- Identify areas for process optimization and implement lean manufacturing practices.
- Develop strategies to reduce production costs without compromising quality.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering (Diploma holders with relevant experience are also welcome).
- Experience: 2-5 years in production planning, scheduling, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and production planning software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and process optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
