Position Title: Plant Finance Controller
POSITION OVERVIEW
Statutory Compliance(Taxation): Ensuring compliance and adherence of the various Corporate and Fiscal Laws, Statues, Enactments, Guidelines prevalent in India for Direct Taxes ( Income Tax, TDS,DTAA , Transfer pricing), Indirect taxes (GST ) in all the transactions entered into by the organization and their assessment proceedings through sound knowledge of Indian Commercial laws, procedures and appropriate documentation. Filing taxes on behalf of the Entity and keeping track of the statutory compliances per Indian Companies Act law. Work with the India team and APAC Finance team to develop and maintain accurate books for accounting purposes. Also, quoting and assisting management in making optimum financial decisions regarding profitability through cost control and profit margin enhancement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Planning & Budgeting: Annual Budget preparation (AOP). Develop and maintain inputs into standard cost accounting system, including development of the annual operating plan
- Work with Budget Owners to get an understanding of performance, analyze variances and prepare forecasts/budget.
- Lead budget variance commentary and reporting
- Target areas of expense overruns/inconsistencies and implement corrective measures
- Cost Management: Optimization of key cost drivers. Ensure integrity of cost accounting inputs by utilizing various auditing techniques including reconciliations.
- Assist in development of labor and burden rates while gaining an understanding of how these factors change with various business decisions.
- Contribute to cost reduction efforts by coordination and maintenance of cost tracking metrics including material, labor, and burden analytics.
- Finalization of Plants books of accounts: P&L & Balance Sheet. Assist in month end close process in order to report accurate and timely financial statements and reports to management.
- Work with people on teams from various departments to accomplish tasks and projects.
- Act as strong business partner to the CEO, challenging and debating business ideas and tactics to help develop the business to deliver the Company’s business performance objectives.
- Support the General CEO in the development and articulation of a short- and medium-term performance delivery strategy and providing the financial input required to that process.
- Taxation: GST (Returns and Audits). Participate in Statutory audits and file taxes on behalf of the entity. Filing for MCA, Direct and Indirect Taxes on behalf of the entity.
- Plant Capex management : New capex proposals, WIP management and capitalization
- Single Point of Contact with the Bank(s) and Fund management
- Audit: Internal and External.
- Legal: Partner/Support APAC and HQ legal team
- Compliance Management:
- Monitor business control effectiveness and develop/execute improvement plans to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Implement key controls in accordance with the Group's Minimum Controls Standards in India
- Ensure the entities comply with relevant trade compliance regulations
- Ability to identify risk and manage these risk with the CEO
- Manage credit and foreign exchange risk of the entities
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- CA and Bachelor’s degree in business with accounting major or similar combination of education and experience. ICWA is also acceptable.
Experience
- Prefer minimum of 12 years of accounting experience in manufacturing with an MNC. Taxation, Product costing and pricing experience is desirable. Plant Finance experience a must.
- Experience with Indian and European Accounting systems - India GAAP and IFRS.
- Thorough knowledge of Financial MIS.
- Thorough knowledge of advanced Microsoft Excel skill is desired, while intermediate knowledge is necessary.
- Accounting software experience with Tally ERP or equivalent is a must.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in automotive industry is a plus.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems is desired.
- Knowledge of database functions (tables, queries, macro, reports etc.).
- Team player.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work normally performed in an office environment
- Occasional exposure to factory hazards
- Occasional travel will be required.
