About the Role:
Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Planner to join our team and play a vital role in the successful delivery of construction projects in the North East. Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using industry-standard planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
* Analyse project scope, drawings, specifications, and other documentation to create accurate and realistic schedules.
* Identify potential risks and constraints, developing mitigation plans to ensure on-time delivery.
* Allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet project deadlines and optimize efficiency.
* Monitor resource utilisation and adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes and unforeseen circumstances.
- Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
* Track project progress against planned schedules, identifying any deviations or potential delays.
* Prepare and present regular progress reports to project management and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, achievements, and challenges.
* Develop and implement corrective action plans to address delays or issues.
* Identify and assess potential risks to project schedules, developing mitigation plans and contingency strategies.
* Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Communication and Collaboration:
* Collaborate effectively with project teams, including site managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
* Communicate project schedules and updates clearly and concisely.
* Contribute to a positive and collaborative working environment.
Key Requirements:
* Proven track record as a Planner within the construction industry, preferably with experience working for a main contractor.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, project management techniques, and scheduling principles.
* Proficiency in using planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
