As a Social Worker in the Children's Court Team, you will work with vulnerable children involved in legal proceedings. You will be responsible for preparing detailed court reports, attending court hearings, and collaborating with other professionals to ensure that children in need of care and protection receive the appropriate support and safeguarding. You will conduct assessments and provide recommendations to protect the child's rights and well-being within the legal framework, ensuring their best interests are at the heart of every decision.

Responsibilities include:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the council, identifying immediate needs, risks, and safeguarding concerns.
- Manage cases that require legal intervention under the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation. This includes preparing high-quality court reports, attending hearings, and presenting evidence to ensure the protection and well-being of vulnerable children.
- Handle complex and urgent cases with care and professionalism, providing immediate crisis intervention and support to children and families in distress.
- Prepare detailed and accurate court documents, including Section 7 and Section 47 reports, care plans, and witness statements, ensuring all submissions adhere to statutory guidelines and reflect the child's best interests.
- Draft and submit legal documents within set deadlines, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and court protocols.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to gather evidence, develop care plans, and provide holistic support to children involved in legal proceedings.
Requirements
- Relevant social work qualification
- 2 experience relevant experience including assessment and care planning.
