Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
● Payroll:
○ Manage the day-to-day operations of the US payroll department, including coordinating
with other departments and affiliated agency entities.
○ This position will take on payroll functions such as gathering/auditing payroll backup
(timesheets), auditing payroll transactions, assisting and researching payroll
issues/discrepancies, and participate in the organization’s month-end, quarterly, and/or
year-end close.
○ Ensure that all payroll-related data is accurate, complete, and current, and process all
payroll-related transactions in a timely and efficient manner.
○ Basic understanding of accounting practices and terms—this position will work closely
with the different entities’ finance departments.
○ Assist with tracking and completing garnishment notices, unemployment claims, and
verification of employment forms.
○ Manage current and implement new payroll policies, procedures, and systems to ensure
compliance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
○ Work closely with finance, human resources, and legal.
○ Ensure that payroll processes are aligned with the company’s goals and policies.
○ Stay current with changes in payroll laws, state and city regulations/ordinances, and best
practices, and implement any necessary changes to policies and procedures.
○ Review and validate payroll tax deposits and filings each pay period and quarter.
○ Prepare and present ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll-related reports and
analyses as needed.
○ Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies/errors.
○ Partake in annual Financial Audit
● Leadership and Management:
○ Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers.
○ Supervise future potential payroll staff.
○ Work closely with the Payroll & Benefits Director to ensure consistency and accuracy of
system data.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
● Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll administration
● Strong understanding of payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
● Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
● Proficient in HRIS/HCM and payroll software systems.
● Proficient in Ceridian/Dayforce and experience with ADP a plus.
● Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc.)
