Our client is looking for a Payroll Associate for a 3 month contract with potential of extension in Toronto. This is an onsite role, 5 days per week on site.
Pay rate: $35.00 / Hour

Responsibilities
Data entry for payrolls, adjustments, deductions, family support, and garnishments.
Processing semi-monthly payroll for over 7000 employees.
Issuing Records of Employment.
Entering termination payments, ensuring accurate calculations.
Responding to payroll tickets via the ticketing application.
Conducting bank recalls, traces, and pay replacements.
Reviewing daily mail and faxes.
Preparing journal entries, analyzing transactions, and reconciling accounts.
Making timely remittances/payments to third parties.
Investigating and correcting payroll errors or warnings.
Acting as a backup for payroll team members.
Performing other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge of accounting, payroll procedures, provincial payroll regulations, and Employment Standards Act (Canada). - MUST HAVE
Interest in digital upskilling and tech trends.
Experience with computerized payroll systems, preferably Workday.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Payroll software, and adaptability to new tools.
Understanding of payroll processes in large organizations.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities under pressure.
Excellent analytical skills, accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.
Customer service focus with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
