We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with a student, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about education to make a meaningful impact on a student's academic journey.
The key child that you will be working with is in KS2 in a mainstream primary, supporting a child who has some social and emotional needs and requires additional academic support. You will be working closely with the class teacher to provide support, following plans that are provided to ensure the child has access to their learning and the opportunity to thrive!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to a student with specific learning requirements
- Assist the student in understanding and completing tasks as directed by the classroom teacher
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit the individual learning style of the student
- Foster a positive and supportive learning environment conducive to the student's academic growth
- Monitor and record the student's progress, communicating findings to relevant stakeholders
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and other support staff to ensure the student's needs are met
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within an educational setting
- A genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and resilience in dealing with challenging situations
- A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (SEN) are desirable but not essential
