Position Overview
The Operations Manager will be instrumental in ensuring the effective management, coordination, and execution of multiple construction projects. This individual will oversee ground teams, manage resources, and ensure projects meet deadlines, budget requirements, and quality standards. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, the Operations Manager will play a pivotal role in translating strategic goals into actionable plans and on-the-ground results, actively shaping the future trajectory of the company.
Key Responsibilities
... Operational Leadership:
- Provide hands-on leadership across all operational teams, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and collaboration across multiple project sites.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring project milestones are met in line with time, budget, and quality standards.
- Implement processes that enhance efficiency, scalability, and resource optimization.
Project Management and Coordination:
- Monitor all ongoing projects, maintain a comprehensive understanding of their status, and make proactive adjustments to ensure smooth progress.
- Manage and coordinate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, across projects to optimize productivity.
- Track project budgets and expenditures, working closely with financial teams to ensure cost control.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
- Act as the primary operational point of contact for the Senior Leadership Team, providing regular updates and insights on project status, resource allocation, and potential risks.
- Develop and deliver reports on key metrics to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision-making and strategic adjustments as needed.
Team Development and Management:
- Oversee ground teams, providing mentorship, support, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and engagement.
- Foster a safe and positive work environment that aligns with the company’s commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and support talent acquisition and retention efforts in alignment with project needs.
Process Improvement and Change Management:
- Identify and implement operational best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead change initiatives in response to growth demands, ensuring smooth transitions and operational effectiveness as the company scales.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine processes, tools, and policies that enhance efficiency and consistency.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operations management role within the construction or civil engineering sector, with a proven track record of managing multiple large-scale projects.
- Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and inspire teams in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in resource planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in construction project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to dynamic project demands and solve complex challenges.
