The OHS Advisor promotes a proactive approach to workplace health and safety, providing expert advice and support to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices. Working closely with the Senior OHS Advisor, this role focuses on continuous improvement and delivering health and safety programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage and Support: Coach and support leaders and employees for positive OHS outcomes.
- Raise Awareness: Provide advice on compliance and best practices.
- Practical Advice: Offer timely health and safety guidance.
- Compliance: Interpret and apply health and safety legislation and standards.
- Risk Management: Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessments, and monitor controls.
- Incident Investigation: Lead or participate in incident investigations and implement controls.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends and improve systems.
- Reporting: Maintain records and prepare reports.
- Training: Identify and coordinate training programs.
- System Development: Assist in developing and auditing the OHS Management System.
- Safe Work Systems: Develop and review safe work procedures and statements.
- Audits: Conduct internal audits and participate in external ones.
- Program Implementation: Design and implement OHS and wellbeing initiatives.
Qualifications
- Experience in an OHS advisory role.
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation and standards.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Relevant qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
