The Network Engineer is responsible for engineering, maintaining, and enhancing the retail, enterprise, OT, supply chain networks. The candidate should be familiar with global and local Best Practices in the area of Network hardware and software technologies with a proven track record of successful project implementations. They should be proficient with SD-WAN, WIFI, LAN, WAN, load balancing, DDI and various routing protocols.
Candidate should be an expert in core Network technology and should have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in this area with demonstrated understanding of key infrastructure technology.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Engineering, architect, build, configure, troubleshoot and maintain the network infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with both global and local best practices
Lead and participate in network-related projects to enhance performance, security, and scalability of both wired and wireless networks
Seamlessly integrate operational technology with IT networks by leveraging Layer 2 NAT and industrial protocols
Ensure compliance of networking with security and safety standards and mitigating risks
Use and improve advanced diagnostic tools to proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues to minimize downtime
Maintain clear and thorough documentation of network architecture, policies, and any changes, while also generating reports as required
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Knowledge of QoS implementation is support of (VoIP and Video) services
Proficient with Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco ISE, Trustsec & SD-ACCESS architecture
Knowledge in Industrial switching, routing, wireless. Leverage layer 2 NAT to integrated OT and IT networks. Understanding of layer 2 OT protocols such as CIP, profinet, ring/star topologies.
Experience with industrial security/networking, IOT, Ethernet to the factory
Knowledge of Ethernet (CPwE) architectures and Cloud Connectivity
Experience with Routing, Switching, Cisco IOS, Nexus, Wireless
Basic understanding of Purdue Model for Control Hierarchy (levels, cells, etc)
Knowledge in modern service provider TCP/IP data networks using standards and technologies including but not limited to: MPLS, IS-IS, OSPF, BGP4, STP, RSTP, 802.1q, 802.11AC, EIGRP, QOS, COS, IPsec & SSL VPNs, DNS, DCHP, SIP
Knowledge of SDWAN technologies such as Velocloud/Meraki
Experience with Load Balancers – Citrix Netscaler/ F5
High level expertise and understanding of following technologies:
Data Center Architecture
EtherChannel
Implementing Rapid Spanning-Tree
Improving STP Configuration
Configure routing between VLANs
Configure MST
Configure Routing on a Multilayer switch
