Role

From middle school onwards, students engage in advanced coursework, setting high expectations while establishing a solid foundation in core subjects, revisiting and reinforcing concepts in greater depth each year to prepare for entry into honors and Advanced Placement levels starting in ninth grade.

As a Biology teacher, you build upon this strong foundation, teaching topics such as the scientific process, cells, microbiology, heredity, plant and animal physiology and function, classification, and ecology. You incorporate student-guided lab experiences to further enhance student understanding.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience
• Bachelor's degree in your subject area (Elementary and Early Education degrees are also highly valued for Pre-K through Grade 5).
• Previous experience within an EAL setting
• Demonstrate strong communication skills in teaching ideas, texts, and concepts with precision and confidence.
• Open to new ideas in teaching.
• Knowledgeable, passionate, and believe in transforming education.
• Able to motivate students to reach their highest potential, while also elevating own skills through peer collaboration and a culture where learning is of the greatest importance.
