Shipments: Timely and compliant movement of biological materials from and to the Belgian Innovation Center Gent sites, supporting the EMEA Biological Material Movement Coordination (BMMC) team in:
- Reviewing documentation for international shipments of biological materials such as seeds, plants and plant parts, microorganisms, proteins, DNA/RNA, cell lines, etc. to ensure shipments meet legal and internal requirements.
- Maintaining a robust shipment documentation and archiving of shipment records in inhouse tools
Biosafety: support the Seeds & Traits Biosafety activities:
- Updating datasheets on various organisms as a basis for risk assessments.
- Maintaining legislation overviews and organism risk group classification masterdata for various countries.
- Delivering biosafety trainings (a good level of Dutch is necessary).
- Maintaining a robust documentation (with focus on updates of procedures and work instructions) to ensure biosafety compliance.
- Reporting all potential incidents and accidents to the site management and Global Biosafety Manager and following the incident management process when required.
These tasks require a background in biology/biotechnology and a regulatory mindset. Any person performing these tasks will receive training in processes and tools to be used as well as relevant regulatory frameworks, to be able to work completely independently.
