Mechanical Supervisor- Kalundborg, Denmark
We are currently looking for a Mechanical Supervisor to work on a pharmaceutical plant for a long- term freelance contract.
This role is Inside IR35
Mechanical Supervisor- Duties:- Supervise the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems, including HVAC, cleanroom ventilation, piping, and process equipment, ensuring compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
- Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team on-site, providing technical guidance and support to ensure successful project execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, electrical engineers, and construction managers, to ensure the smooth integration of mechanical systems into overall project workflows.
- Monitor contractor performance, ensuring that all mechanical installations meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, including GMP, FDA, and other pharmaceutical industry standards.
- Conduct on-site inspections and quality checks to verify that mechanical systems are installed correctly and are functioning as intended.
- Resolve technical issues related to mechanical systems, providing prompt solutions to maintain project schedules and prevent delays.
- Develop and review mechanical system documentation, including construction plans, technical drawings, and validation protocols.
- Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring that mechanical engineering activities are completed efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Ensure that all mechanical systems meet health, safety, and environmental regulations, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe work environment for all on-site personnel.
- Support commissioning, qualification, and validation (CQV) activities for mechanical systems and ensure all documentation is properly prepared for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Lead troubleshooting and maintenance efforts during project handover, ensuring smooth operation of mechanical systems in the completed pharmaceutical facility.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role, preferably in pharmaceutical or highly regulated construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, FDA, and EMA standards as they relate to mechanical systems in pharmaceutical facilities.
- Proven experience with mechanical systems such as HVAC, piping, cleanroom design, and process equipment installations in pharma environments.
- Proficiency in using CAD software and other engineering tools for reviewing and managing mechanical system designs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse group of engineers and contractors.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities with a focus on delivering quality work.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Solid understanding of safety and environmental regulations relevant to construction projects, especially in the pharmaceutical sector.
