Responsibilities
▪ Manage budgets, schedules, and employees while providing technical leadership for new designs, products, and processes.
▪ Oversee mechanical design deliverables, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and upper management support.
▪ Apply analytical skills to solve complex problems and maintain product development process through key meetings and deliverables.
▪ Foster employee growth by providing cross-training and development opportunities.
▪ Stay updated on industry trends and maintain professional knowledge.
▪ Ensure designs meet performance, cost, and schedule standards.
▪ Coordinate vacation requests and timecard approvals; work with V.P. of Engineering on compensation and promotions.
▪ Conduct detailed design reviews to ensure quality and minimize rework.
▪ Support departments during the projects phases for design, manufacturing, assembly, and testing issues.
▪ Provide performance updates in meetings, coordinate service and on-site installations as needed.
▪ Ensure adherence to engineering procedures and promote cross-department communication.
▪ Maintain positive working relationships with team members and adhere to company policies, safety rules, and ISO procedures.
Qualifications
▪ BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent preferred).
▪ Five years of engineering experience in a capital equipment company, with managerial, project management, and design responsibilities in a senior role.
▪ Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Inventor or similar 3D modeling CAD software.
▪ Experience with FEA software is a strong asset.
▪ P.Eng designation preferred.
▪ Strong analytical skills to solve complex engineering problems.
▪ Technical expertise in various mechanical systems and the ability to provide valuable input.
▪ Solid understanding of company products and manufacturing processes.
