Job: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Preston
Salary: £40,000 per annum
We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our clients team working on one of their manufacturing sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of mechanical equipment on-site, ensuring all work is completed in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Main Responsibilities:
... - Carry out planned preventative maintenance on building services equipment.
- Perform reactive and emergency breakdown tasks as allocated.
- Conduct inspections, fault finding, and diagnosis of mechanical equipment.
- Ensure all tasks are completed according to agreed service levels.
- Complete job sheets electronically using a tablet or smartphone.
- Maintain site-based records and logbooks.
- Perform general cleaning and housekeeping to maximise the life expectancy of all equipment.
- Work proactively to reduce energy consumption on client sites and recommend improvements.
- Adhere to all health, safety, compliance, and local policies and procedures.
- Complete site inductions and assist with the sign-in process for sub-contractors, ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and Permits to Work are in place.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience in mechanical maintenance and building services.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Proficiency in using tablets and smartphones for job-related tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and compliance regulations.
