We are seeking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (Logistics) who is responsible for the mechanical design and development of innovative production systems for the food processing industry, from concept to product launch. The Mechanical Design Engineer (Logistics) has good knowledge of the food processing industry to be able to make a creative contribution and can turn ideas into industrial solutions. You work closely with colleagues from various industries, mainly Innovation, as well as Supply Chain, Sales, Product Management and Service.
This position will focus on transport systems like conveyor technology and logistics which are designed using ModelBased Design.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Mechanical Design Engineer (Logistics), you’ll:
- In cooperation with a project team, efficiently design and develop all mechanical aspects of new machinery and solutions, assemblies and components and to prepare and issue documentation and drawings as required by the Product Development Process (PDP). This includes continuous improvement of techniques.
- Work in project teams on the development of concepts and be responsible for the testing, investigation and verification of your concepts and designs.
- Pay particular attention to the implementation of the function, hygienic and cleaning aspects, reliability, safety, production technologies and cost price.
- Action the mechanical design and development of new machinery, assemblies and components, to satisfy the design and cost requirements and relevant international standards to prepare assembly/detail drawings and part lists.
- Communicate changes or updates in content of documentation.
- Perform evaluations, testing and analyses at customer site.
- Stay up to date with the relevant developments in the field of mechanical engineering.
- Communicate in cross functional teams as well as contribute to team collaboration and build team spirit.
