Are you an experienced Mechanical Construction Engineer with a background in nuclear licensed sites? We are looking for a skilled professional to join our Sellafield project team to oversee the mechanical construction work. If you have previous experience on a nuclear site, have worked with shield doors, Gamma gates, or EOTC Cranes, and have strong leadership skills, this could be the role for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical engineering activities on Sellafield projects, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Manage and supervise a small team of supervisors, blue-collar operatives, and sub-contractors on-site.
- Oversee the installation of mechanical systems, including bogey & rail systems, shield doors, Gamma gates, and Kuka robots in a nuclear environment.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
- Follow construction drawings, technical specifications, and ensure that work adheres to Sellafield procedures.
- Ensure the safe operation of mechanical systems on site and compliance with IOSH Managing Safely standards.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Formal qualification in Mechanical Engineering (minimum HNC).
- Experience fulfilling a mechanical engineering role in construction, preferably in a nuclear licenced environment.
- Proven ability to manage teams, including supervisors, operatives, and sub-contractors.
- IOSH Managing Safely qualification.
- Experience working with shield doors, Gamma gates, Kuka robots, and bogey & rail systems is highly desirable.
- Previous experience working with EOTC Cranes is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage tasks and responsibilities effectively on-site.
- Holder of a valid competency card.
