The school is an independent specialist school providing therapeutic and child-centred education for pupils aged 11 to 17. Our students have a range of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join our team. You will teach a range of Maths levels, including Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE, adapting your lessons to meet the individual needs of our students. Your role will involve supporting students with SEMH needs, building nurturing and trusting relationships, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH and SEND.
- Teach a range of Maths qualifications, from Entry Level to GCSE.
- Foster a supportive and therapeutic classroom environment that promotes student well-being and engagement.
- Manage challenging behaviour using trauma-informed approaches and de-escalation techniques.
- Work closely with other teachers, therapists, and support staff to provide holistic care and education.
- Participate in curriculum development and extracurricular activities to enrich student experiences.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification in Mathematics.
- Experience working with students with SEMH, SEND, or challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- A commitment to supporting students' emotional and academic growth.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
