As a Marine Underwriter in this position, you will be reporting into the Head of Underwriting and work alongside with a small team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the Marine Cargo, Liabilities and Specie business.
In order to be successful in this position, the incumbent must come with strong business acumen and good relationships with the intermediaries.
Skills and experience required
- General insurance certifications, ACII or FCII qualified
- 5+ years experience as an Underwriter in the marine space - both broking or underwriting experience can be considered
- Experienced handling Marine Cargo, Liabilities and Specie preferred
- Strong business acumen and good understanding of local developments
- Strong relationship with intermediaries and brokers
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills
