Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Modeling and Analysis:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models to support project investment decisions.
- Ensure the accuracy and integration of relevant inputs into financial models.
- Conduct and implement sensitivity analyses for investment scenarios.
Financial Evaluation and Recommendations:
- Develop, analyze, evaluate, and recommend financial options and proposals related to business development projects or other funding needs.
- Provide strategic advice on financial structuring and optimization to maximize returns.
Risk Assessment and Advisory:
- Advise internal stakeholders on risk allocation, bankability of terms and conditions, and provide general structuring advice throughout the business development process.
- Identify project economic and financial risks and suggest appropriate mitigation strategies and contingencies.
Business Development Support:
- Assist in the business development decision-making process as the finance single point of contact.
- Centralize accounting, tax, treasury, and corporate finance requirements for investment business cases.
Transaction Structuring and Execution:
- Lead the structuring, negotiation, and execution of financing documents for medium to large transactions.
- Ensure transactions adhere to best project finance practices.
Stakeholder Management:
- Develop presentations for lender and management updates and discussions.
- Negotiate key financial terms of transaction documents.
- Manage relationships with banks, consultants, lawyers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful transaction closure.
Miscellaneous Duties:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent are preferred.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position, conducting industry M&A and project finance transactions.
- Experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategic energy companies is preferred.
- Broad expertise in the power industry, particularly in retail, energy services, renewables, and generation markets.
Specific Knowledge:
- Significant expertise in the renewable energy industry, including structuring tax equity investments for wind and solar projects.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and utilizing detailed, Excel-based financial models.
