Responsibilities
• Provide clinical informatics expertise and advice to support our client in achieving the objectives of the eHealth portfolio.
• Provide clinical informatics leadership when participating in business and clinical systems reviews and needs assessments for new or modified eHealth system solutions.
• Ensure design decisions address cross functional needs and embody the principles of patient focused care.
• Identify and suggest mitigations of clinical issues/risks associated with the design, build, deployment, and sustainability of eHealth system solutions targeted to clinicians or citizens/patients.
• Facilitate or participate in specialty/clinical working groups composed of interdisciplinary clinical and administrative team members to identify optimal solutions, document functional requirements or define proposed workflows related to a technical solution.
• Apply broad knowledge and expertise of the health care system and sectors of care delivery and generalized knowledge of care delivery processes in primary care, public health, long-term care, etc.
• Lead the development and/or adoption of organizational and/or clinical change management processes to support release of new or enhanced eHealth system solution capabilities.
• Support eHealth software solution and technology Request for Proposals (RFP) clinical requirements gathering and RFP evaluation.
• Support Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) requirements for eHealth initiatives.
• Manage projects or sub-projects, including resource allocation and/or providing oversight for directing resources to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
Mandatory Qualifications:
• Degree in Health, Nursing or Health Informatics.
• 10 years of demonstrated experience in applying knowledge of clinical concepts and care processes when leading the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of clinical information systems.
• 5 years of demonstrated experience in a role requiring knowledge of the clinical and technological aspects of the primary health care domain.
• 15 years of demonstrated experience understanding clinical business and practice requirements and translating them into technology designs and concepts.
• 5 years of demonstrated experience with data integration between clinical applications in the Canadian eHealth environment.
Desired Qualifications:
• Current registration in a clinical profession from a College recognized under the Regulated Health Professions Act.
• 10 years of demonstrated experience gathering clinical requirements through various methods of facilitation.
• 8 years of demonstrated experience in executive stakeholder relationship management and engagement (i.e. determining the needs of senior stakeholders and understanding business priorities and pressures).
• 5 years of demonstrated experience in the development, implementation or support of solutions aimed at citizen engagement or citizen access to their personal health information.
• 10 years of demonstrated knowledge and experience with the contents and application of the Alberta Health Information Act, including but not limited to supporting the development of related artifacts such as Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA), Security Threat Risk Assessment (STRA), Business Impact Assessment (BIA).
• Demonstrated experience with Canada Health Infoway (CHI), the Canadian Institute of Health Information (CIHI) or a recognized standards development organization.
