Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide a team of management accountants, fostering their growth and professional development.
- Conduct thorough variance analysis in monthly reports, identify anomalies, report to superiors, and suggest improvements or corrective actions, ensuring plant results accurately reflect performance.
- Identify areas for enhancement and recommend corrective measures.
- Collaborate with department heads and senior management to prepare budgets and forecasts.
- Partner with operational staff to provide detailed commentaries on operational results, highlighting key points and concerns.
- Actively participate in monthly plant performance reviews and plant management meetings.
- Monitor and manage costs against budget targets, ensuring compliance with financial plans.
- Accurately allocate costs to products, services, and operational plants, reviewing and proposing adjustments to allocation methods as needed.
- Support decision-making processes with financial models and insights.
- Evaluate capital investments and provide financial analyses to support investment decisions.
- Assess the financial impact of strategic initiatives and business proposals.
- Maintain appropriate control environments and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure timely preparation, review, and submission of reports to various government ministries.
- Prepare insurance claims calculations as needed and ensure timely submission of required information to insurers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Professional qualifications such as ACCA or CIMA and MIA membership are advantageous).
- Experience in management reporting, cost accounting, budget control, and cost savings in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills; experience with financial planning software is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to interpret complex financial data and derive meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills, with a history of effectively managing teams and achieving results in a dynamic environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of financial integrity and compliance.
