Job Purpose
The Investment Associate / Analyst will play a key role in driving the expansion of the company’s renewable energy footprint across the region. The role involves conducting in-depth financial analysis, market research, and supporting strategic investment decisions, with a focus on mergers, acquisitions, and new business ventures. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and execute investment opportunities in line with the company's growth strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Investment Analysis & Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for investment opportunities in renewable energy projects, focusing on solar, wind, hydro, and other clean energy sources.
- Analyze financial statements, cash flows, and project feasibility to support investment decisions.
- Prepare investment memos, presentations, and recommendations for senior management and board review.
- Market Research & Strategy:
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities in the renewable energy sector across Southeast Asia and other key markets.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity to inform investment strategy.
- Support in the preparation of strategic plans and regional expansion strategies.
- Deal Structuring & Execution:
- Assist in structuring and negotiating investment deals, including M&A, joint ventures, and partnerships.
- Work closely with legal, financial, and technical teams to ensure successful transaction execution.
- Coordinate with external advisors, including legal, financial, and technical consultants, during the due diligence and transaction process.
- Portfolio Management:
- Support the ongoing monitoring and management of existing investment portfolios to ensure compliance with financial targets and risk management practices.
- Assist in preparing periodic reports and presentations on portfolio performance for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry players, investors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with internal teams across functions, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment of investment strategies with overall business objectives.
Key Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. A CFA/CPA or equivalent certification is an added advantage.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, or a related field, with exposure to renewable energy projects preferred.
- Proven track record in financial modeling, valuation, and deal execution.
- Experience in M&A transactions, project finance, and understanding of regulatory and market dynamics in the renewable energy sector.
