Role
Primary School teachers adopt a collaborative, co-teaching approach to enhance student engagement and learning opportunities. The Subject Expert Teacher (SET) assumes the lead in delivering engaging, subject-specific learning experiences, while the Learning Enhancement Teacher (LET) ensures individual student understanding. Together, you cultivate a joyful and rigorous learning culture that celebrates hard work and where intellectual pursuit leads to exceptional student outcomes.
As a Humanities Subject Expert Teacher, you establish a strong foundation of language and social science skills and knowledge. This includes Language Arts topics including beginnings of reading and writing, reading comprehension, writing process, and much more. Humanities topics include world history, American history, and beginnings of geographic awareness. You also collaborate with fellow teachers to tie in lessons with what students are learning in other subjects, such as music and art.
You will also:
- Foster meaningful relationships with each student to ensure a personalized and successful learning trajectory
- Guide students in pursuing academic achievement, personal responsibility, and intellect
- Pursue continuous professional growth by participating in ongoing professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and staying informed on the latest educational techniques and best practices in your field
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative school community
Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in your subject area (Elementary and Early Education degrees are also highly valued for Pre-K through Grade 5).
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience for teaching roles, more for leadership
- Demonstrate strong communication skills in teaching ideas, texts, and concepts with precision and confidence.
- Open to new ideas in teaching.
- Knowledgeable, passionate, and believe in transforming education.
- A commitment to maintaining and enhancing the rigor of international education.
- A team player eager to share and learn from colleagues worldwide
- Able to motivate students to reach their highest potential, while also elevating own skills through peer collaboration and a culture where learning is of the greatest importance.
- Being a relatively new school, flexibility is important as well as strong relationship building skills and an ability to build a strong school community.
