Durham County Council's Children's Looked After Team is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Social Worker to join their team, this would be a non-case holding role. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience and contribute significantly to the well-being of children in care, while working in a supportive and collaborative team environment.
About the Role
In this role, you will be a vital part of our Children in Care service, providing essential support to the team by:
- Completing thorough assessments: You will be responsible for conducting Placement with Parent assessments and Child and Family assessments, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the needs of children and their families.
- Responding to duty crisis: You will play a key role in responding to urgent situations and crises, providing immediate support and ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care.
- Supporting visits: You will provide regular visits to children in unregulated provisions, ensuring their needs are being met and providing additional support as required.
- Working as part of a dedicated team: You will be part of a supportive and collaborative team, working alongside experienced social workers to ensure the best outcomes for children in care.
Who we're looking for:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Worker with a strong commitment to promoting the well-being of children in care.
You will need
- A recognised social work qualification (e.g., DipSW, CQSW, BSC Social Work)
- A valid Social Work England registration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse individuals
- A deep understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures relating to children in care
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children
- A willingness to learn and develop, working as part of a team to achieve shared goals
