Randstad are working with Cardiff Council recruiting experienced and passionate Social Workers to join a Locality Team on an agency basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the community, providing high-quality support to children, young people, and families.
As a Social Worker in a Locality Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children while empowering families to make positive changes in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
- Develop and implement effective care plans in line with statutory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Conduct child protection investigations and represent the council in court proceedings as required.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records and ensure compliance with legislation and council policies.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and contribute to team discussions and decision-making.
- Promote the rights and welfare of children in all aspects of your work.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Care Wales.
- Proven experience in child protection, safeguarding, and care planning.
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively and work under pressure.
Desirable:
- Experience working within a locality or community-based team.
- A valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
