Legal Officer Opportunity in a Global Insurance GroupAre you an experienced legal professional with a passion for technology and a drive to make an impact? A prominent global insurance group is seeking an IT Legal Officer to help lead digital transformation efforts by shaping policies across its IT systems and supporting business divisions. This role offers the chance to influence key legal strategies for IT governance, security, and compliance, all within a dynamic and collaborative environment.Position Overview: As the IT Legal Officer, you will be responsible for developing strategies that address emerging technologies and regulatory shifts, supporting digital initiatives, and overseeing complex contract negotiations. This role blends strategic planning with hands-on legal work, providing a unique opportunity to shape IT law policy in a forward-thinking, global team.Key Responsibilities:•Develop policies on IT governance, security, and vendor management in response to new technologies and laws.•Handle contract negotiations and drafting for both domestic and international agreements.•Provide legal guidance for new service launches, supporting cross-functional teams.•Offer internal training and continuously improve legal operational processes.•Liaise with external legal counsel and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Ideal Candidate Profile:•Essential Qualifications:oNative Japanese proficiency.o3+ years of corporate legal experience, ideally with a focus on in-house roles.oStrong ability to navigate complex legal matters in partnership with internal and external teams.oProblem-solving mindset, with the initiative to tackle complex legal issues proactively.•Preferred Skills:oExperience in IT legal roles or international contract negotiation.oIntermediate English proficiency for reviewing contracts and international communications.oJapanese Bar qualification (not required but advantageous).Role Benefits:•Salary: Up to 16 million yen total annual compensation, based on skills and experience.•Location: Tokyo with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.•Working Hours: 9:00-17:00 (7-hour workday), average overtime of 20-30 hours per month.•Employee Perks:oExtended leave options, including annual 10-day consecutive vacation (near 100% usage rate).oAdditional leave for refreshment, anniversaries, and special occasions.oParental leave for both mothers and fathers, along with comprehensive family support.oAccess to wellness programs, recreational facilities, and ongoing professional development.This position offers a compelling career path for professionals who thrive in a challenging and collaborative environment.
