We are seeking an experienced Lease Accounting Manager to join a dynamic finance team and manage all aspects of a large growing portfolio.
Position Overview: The Lease Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing the company’s lease accounting function, ensuring compliance with IFRS 16 and lease accounting standards. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to manage lease data and provide strategic insights to optimize lease portfolios.
... Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lease accounting process, including lease classification, lease liability and right-of-use asset calculations, and related journal entries.
- Practical application of IFRS & AASB 16 Standards
- Month end reporting - quarterly, and annual lease accounting reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (real estate, legal, FP&A, and operations teams) to gather lease data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Develop and maintain lease accounting procedures and workflows to streamline processes and ensure efficiency.
- Supervise and mentor 5 direct reports, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in lease accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS 16, and other lease accounting standards.
- Experience with lease accounting software RE-FX and SAP is preferred
- Experience in a fast paced environment and large scale organisation
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
