Role Overview: We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Workers to join their team. The successful candidates will play a crucial role in assisting students with learning difficulties, promoting their academic and personal development, and ensuring they thrive in a supportive and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Student Learning: Provide individual and group support to students, helping them to engage with the curriculum and develop their learning skills.
- Tailored Assistance: Work closely with teachers to implement personalised education plans and adapt learning materials to meet the specific needs of students.
- Monitoring Progress: Regularly assess and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
- Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported, encouraging positive social interactions and collaborative learning.
- Emotional Support: Offer emotional and behavioural support to students, helping them to manage challenges and build resilience.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to develop and deliver effective support strategies.
- Engagement in Activities: Assist in organising and supervising extracurricular activities that enhance social skills and personal development.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or special needs support (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent).
- Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with learning difficulties or additional needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
