In the role of Lead Engineer Electrical, you are responsible for the engineering and realization of energy distribution projects in the data center industry. The Lead Engineer is responsible for the technical solution and ensures that it is realized within agreed timeline and budget. In this position you will work for the Electrical Engineering team for data centers, which consists of 20 engineers.
The Lead Engineer is primarily responsible for the technology in the project. An important part of the position is to direct and guide the interface and system engineers who are under the supervision of the Lead Engineer to elaborate the detailed engineering. The scope within the projects consists of the engineering, manufacturing, installation and commissioning of energy distribution systems such as medium and low voltage dividers, transformers, power distribution units, busbar systems, digital protections, automation and monitoring systems and modular solutions such as EHouses and Skids.
The Lead Engineer keeps the overview and ensures that the various designs and disciplines are functionally attuned to each other and are carried out within agreed budget and planning framework. The short lead times and high demands of our customers ensure a lot of dynamics. In addition to managing the engineering team, you have frequent contact with the clients. You provide advice to our customers and ensure the coordination of the designs, which means that you are the technical point of contact. Within the projects there is always intensive cooperation with the project manager.
The work mainly takes place from Siemens’ office in The Hague. In addition, you must be ready to regularly visit factories and project locations in the Netherlands and abroad. This includes supervising factory purchases, attending meetings with the customer or coordinating site activities.
