Responsibilities
-Act as a trusted advisor to leadership, providing expert guidance on labour relations and collective agreement interpretation.
-Manage grievance handling, including preparation and presentation at arbitration.
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on LR strategies and promote a cooperative working environment with union representatives.
-Conduct training sessions on LR topics such as collective agreements, employment standards, and effective conflict resolution.
-Partner with business leaders to analyze and resolve operational issues, providing strategic recommendations.
-Oversee compliance with relevant federal employment legislation and corporate policies.
-Lead and support initiatives related to labour relations, including union-management negotiations.
Qualifications
-A minimum of 5 years of experience in labour relations, including grievance and arbitration processes.
-Bachelor’s Degree in Labour Relations, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
-Experience in the transportation or federal sectors is an asset.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
-Demonstrated ability to manage change and drive organizational improvement.
