Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data engineers and business analysts to design and implement end-to-end data solutions for retail business needs.
- Document comprehensive architecture blueprints and technical specifications to guide the development and deployment of data solutions.
- Communicates effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex technical concepts into understandable terms.
- Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support various retail business functions such as sales, purchasing, inventory management, guest data analytics, and marketing etc.
- Design curated global data models that offer an integrated, business-centric single source of truth for data analytics, reporting, and downstream system use.
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources including POS systems, ERP systems, CRM systems, e-commerce platforms and third-party data providers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role focused on data architecture, database design or data engineering.
- 5+ years of experience of working in retail industry with a good knowledge of retail business processes, data flows, and systems, including POS (Point of Sale) systems, inventory management, CRM (Customer Relationship Management), and e-commerce platforms.
- Strong expertise in data modeling, database design, and data architecture principles, with experience using relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA deployment options, including on-premises, cloud, and hybrid architectures.
- Proficiency in data integration techniques, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, or PowerDesigner.
- Experience working in Agile development environments and familiarity with DevOps practices for data engineering and deployment.
- Familiarity with Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Visio, including advanced features such as custom stencils, templates, shapes, and connectors.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
